While the brand name Vertu has been associated
with feature phones that cost an atrocious amount of money, it looks
like the company has decided to step up its game with the release of its
first touchscreen phone – the Constellation T. For the first time,
Vertu has a phone that can be put in the same category as some
smartphones in the market (well if you exclude the phone’s price which
hasn’t been announced but will no doubt be ridiculous).
The Constellation T will feature an 8-megapixel camera with dual LED
flash, 32GB of onboard storage, a 3.5″ nHD AMOLED display, and will
probably run on a variant of Symbian (Anna or Belle) with a
heavily-customized Vertu skin. No word on what processor will be
powering the phone, but we can expect it to be carrying similar hardware
to a high-end Nokia phone.
The Constellation T will be released
sometime in October, so it shouldn’t be too long until we find out more
about the phone. Any of you own a Vertu phone or are planning to get one
in the future?
